Don’t take our word for it, here are what some hot-head reviewers thought of our Southern Braai Sauce:
“I have never tasted anything with these flavor combinations!” – Sauced PDX
“It’s sweet, it’s mustardy, it’s fantastic!” – Austin Armstrong
Southern Braai is one of the most interesting barbeque sauces I have ever tried! I ate several spoonfuls of the sauce when I first opened the bottle. That’s how tasty it was even on its own. And the ribs I marinated in it turned out to be absolutely delicious!
Being from South Africa, braai-time is a sacred time. So naturally, when this was whipped out at a BBQ, we were skeptical. Our skepticism melted away after the first sniff of this sauce! Just smelling it you can pick up on all the nuances of warm spices and maximum flavor. Not spicy at all, this sauce is definitely perfect for a family braai. With warm notes of garlic, cloves, and deep richness to it (I think it is the molasses), this sauce was the star of the day!
I tried this on some mushrooms on the fire and it did not disappoint! The warm toasty spices come through, and it brings a depth of flavor that I have never tasted in a BBQ sauce! Also, it is not overloaded with sugar like some of the other BBQ sauces I have tried. Needless to say, my mushrooms were the star of the BBQ, and got finished before any of the meat did! Next time I will have to buy double!
