A truly unique sauce with a well-balanced flavor profile that is robust and delivers some heat.
The heat creeps up slowly, delivering a warm tingle with notes of sweetness, salty, and tangy.

“It highlights the fruity side of those ghost peppers and really brings the spices to life!” – Tara Erickson from Pepper Scale
“That might be the greatest sauce I have ever had!” – Brian Ambs
I was worried this would be too spicy for me as the main pepper in it is the infamous Ghost Pepper, but I was pleasantly surprised how mild this was. I love African hot sauces because they tend to have complex and dynamic flavors instead of just peppers and vinegar. This tastes unique and adds a little zing to almost anything!
This one has become a new pantry staple. It is flavorful with sweet and savory notes and a degree of intensity that builds over time but not to the point that has you sniffling. It is also thick enough that is adhere to whatever it is poured on or dipped in it.
Amazing hot sauce! Plus how incredible that it supports a wildlife organization, overall it’s a great sauce. I’m going to check out the other flavors they have available. Great taste!
This peri peri has a really nice flavor. It’s not too hot, it’s really just right heat-wise, and it’s as good as Nando’s. This sauce has been good on everything we’ve tried it on so far.
Very pleased with how natural this sauce is and how tasty it is. Yum!
I’m glad I finally found a hot sauce where they’re not trying to kill you. Though it does use Ghost peppers, it’s not as hot as I was expecting. If I were to rate the hotness, it would be at about between Taco Bell’s Fire sauce and Tapatio – not very hot.
Despite the lack of heat, the sauce had such an interesting flavor. I do taste a little bit of sweetness blended in with the hotness. I’ve eaten it with burgers, a sandwich, tacos, and a burrito. It’s very good! Next time I’ll try their sauce next up on their spice tier.
I love hot sauces – to me there is no such thing as a ‘bad’ one. But the good ones really stand out because of their unique flavors. This sauce is incredible, and is different than anything I have tasted before. I have come to the conclusion that this unique flavor comes down to two things: 1) the brine gives this tart/tangy flavor, but it is balanced by the cane sugar. So you get that briny tartness, but the subtle sweetness takes the edge off of it; 2) the herbs (thyme, parsley and oregano) combine to give it a unique ‘herbiness’ (as opposed to the typical ‘spiciness’ you get in hot sauces). I would describe the heat as medium – but keep in mind that I like my sauces *really* hot, so this may taste hotter to some that aren’t as used to the heat. Overall I LOVE this sauce and its unique flavor. Major props to the product!
“I had never tried a hot sauce from South Africa, so I was excited to taste this one!
Firstly, I appreciate that African Dream Foods donates a portion of proceeds to African conservation organizations, that’s super cool. Second, this hot sauce is super tasty. I was worried that maybe it’d be too hot for me at a scale of 6, but I can actually handle it. Just a little bit adds a kick to my food. It is not only hot, like some hot sauces–it also has a great flavor. So good on everything. “
I feared that a sauce with ghost pepper brine as its first ingredient that this may be too hot for a hot sauce lover like myself. Although, I found that while it is pretty spicy, it’s really not blazing hot. I like it on everything I would ordinarily use hot sauce on: eggs and egg sandwiches, casseroles (especially mac and cheese), beans, rice, hamburgers, chili dogs, potatoes. In addition to the great flavor, I appreciate that they are gluten free and vegan so that I can put them on the table for family members who have celiac disease are eat vegan/vegetarian. This company is well on its way to becoming my go-to choice for hot sauces.
This is good hot sauce. I had just made some hot sauce, so I’ve also tried both to see which one is my favorite. I do like the homemade one a little bit better (slightly bias), but this one is still five stars for me. They’re made with different types of peppers, which could account for the flavor differences. And it is so full of flavor.
Even though the bottle isn’t huge, a little bit goes a long way (at least for me), so it’s a decent quantity for those of us who use hot sauce sparingly.
This sauce has an interesting spicy flavor with hints of smoldering heat. I’ve used it on chili dogs, tater tots, Jimmy Dean Sausage and Egg Biscuits, and even enchiladas, and it tastes great on everything. My only issue is that with only 5 ounces in the bottle, it goes quick.
African Dream Foods makes some amazing flavored sauces. They are not the hottest I have tried but they all taste great. I am looking forward to these taking off and becoming really popular.
Oh man. I will say that I was grossly underprepared for how spicy this would be. If you are a big fan of spicy sauces, give this a try. This could perhaps be one of the most spicy sauce I have tried. In terms of actual flavor, this tastes absolutely delicious. It’s a bit difficult to explain the flavor profile of this sauce but I would say it is similar to how a Buffalo sauce would taste, only a lot more spicy. I like to add this to my morning omelets and I have also tried it on my grilled chicken. A little goes a long way for sure.
Nothing compares to the sauce. it is must be made by gods hands himself and it goes incredibly on everything
Friends and family favorite. The one that is always empty first! Great with everything – chicken, shrimps, salads, meat!
This isn’t like a traditional vinegar hot sauce like Tabasco. It’s more like a taco sauce. It has a nice heat which isn’t too hot. It is a bit sweet too and though the flavor is amazing, it is a little bit too sweet for my palate.
If you’ve ever tried nandos peri peri & loved it then mark my words, this sauce knocks out nandos out cold. This is a medium sauce and it honestly tasted spicier than Nando’s Peri-Peri sauce. It is so flavorful and works well on so many different dishes. This is the best Peri-Peri out there.
We have tasted peri-peri hot sauce for the first time and we liked it. It tastes slightly sweet and tangy initially and feel the heat in the end. It is not too spicy, may be between medium to hot for most. It goes well on so many things. It comes in a glass bottle and metal cap (no plastics) that can be preserved in refrigerator and part of money goes to African animals conservation, good cause and great taste!
I had no idea what to expect from this hot sauce, but I love it! Looks like I’ve found a new, favorite brand!
I can handle quite a bit of heat in my hot sauces, but I also like to have some flavor as well. This one has an excellent balance of heat and flavor. It is sweet and hot, which make a very nice combination.
I’ve made quite a few trips to South Africa and the flavors of this sauce makes me want to have some grilled boerewors! On one trip. we stopped at a roadside stand that consisted of an umbrella and chair and a grill where we had some grilled South African boerewors.
Please make gallon jugs???
I am loving this sauce so much. So much fun to experiment with. I used this as a dip for chips, poured on grilled chicken pecan salad, and a chicken sandwich. So good!
I put this on some grilled veggies I made, and oh-my-goodness was it good.
There is enough heat that it gives your mouth a little tingle without burning. It’s not straight heat, it is so flavorful.
Shipped secure, safety sealed. When I opened the bottle I noticed some separation, like oil and vinegar, so you’ll have to shake the bottle up a bit. The sauce is tasty, but when I think ghost pepper, I think hotter than this. Maybe it’s the peri-peri that cools it down? But ghost pepper is an odd choice for a milder sauce.
I tried another item from this company and it’s good too. I also like that they donate to wildlife causes. Wouldn’t hesitate to try another item from them.
I don’t think this is a classic hot sauce. Product should be labeled garlic sauce not Hot sauce!
Okay, I will start by saying that I am a wimp when it comes to spicy food, so much so that I find black pepper spicy!
So, when I put a drop of the Ghost Peri-Peri hot sauce on my tongue, I was not prepared for the level of heat that was soon to come! My husband handles spicy sauces better and even he thought it was super hot!!! He did enjoy the flavor and mild sweetness. Sweetness isn’t something you tend to find in a hot sauce like this so it was a enjoyable surprise. The garlic flavor is quite strong and compliments the ghost peppers nicely.
My husband has used this mixed with ketchup as a fry dipper, on burgers, eggs, tacos, in chili, and added to salsa. He said it was fantastic in everything he has tried it on!
It’s the best peri-peri sauce I have tried! Pure heaven for your tastebuds. You can literally eat a shoe sole with it and enjoy your meal 🙂 I used this sauce on some veggie burgers and they turned out great, I even had meat-eating friends raving about them!
This is my go-to sauce. My favorite if I can only pick one sauce to eat for the rest of my life.
