I love that you are grinding the seasoning to release the flavors when using. This has a nice smoky flavoring that you can really play up or down with the amount of seasoning. This can get salty so you also do have to be mindful of how much you are using. Overall, a really nice seasoning.
I’ve really been enjoying the flavor of this blend. I do love smoked paprika. It is mixed with garlic, salt, and basil. I think I’d like it a little better without salt simply because I like to control the amount of salt separately, but it is a good blend that imparts a mild, smoky flavor that makes whatever food I put it on taste better. I’m a huge fan!There’s both an inner seal to keep the spices fresh as well as a plastic seal to keep the grinder clean.The grinder mechanism works well and smoothly dispenses the ground spices onto whatever I grind it over.
A lovely smoked paprika and garlic taste. The mix is really good. I like this over chicken. I also really liked it over roasted eggplant and cauliflower. It has an amazing aroma and nice fresh strong flavor.
There’s not really heat to it, just smoky paprika with a little garlic, basil, and salt. This is a nice smoky heat seasoning that works on so many foods! I’ve left it near the stove so I can experiment, and so far, we love it on pizza, eggs, burgers, veggies, and potatoes.

This is what I would call a hearty spice blend, especially good on beef. Not all of us can grill regularly, but this blend adds a richness of flavors to hamburger patties. The spice container has a grinder that dispenses freshly ground seasoning, there is a little heat to this mix, but not overpowering. The blend could be used on meat, poultry even fish depending on your preference, but I love it on beef.
Smoked paprika is an exceptionally strong spice. Smoked Spanish Paprika on certain ethnic dishes that we prepare, and a little really goes a long way. That’s also true with this blend; the smoked paprika dominates the aroma and flavor so much that I can’t detect any hints of the garlic or basil. Only the salt comes through, and not in a good way. To my taste buds, its ALL smoke and salt.
I’ll use this Safari Smoke Seasoning (sparingly, of course, because it’s so salty) until it’s gone (and then I’ll re-use the handy grinder-top jar), but I much prefer my salt-free smoked Spanish paprika, my salt-free garlic powder (or, most of the time, chopped fresh garlic) and my salt-free dried basil (or, when I can get it, chopped fresh basil).
I really like the smokey flavors the peppers bring, and also like the added garlic. I wish it were lower in sodium though. I like to use ‘smokey’ flavors to replace ham in cooked dishes – I use smoked paprika often and this is similar in taste (although it is a different consistency than powder and some some additional flavor notes). It adds great flavor without adding heat (when I want some heat with my smoke I often use chipotle powder). Bottom line is that the flavor is great if you want smoke without the heat.
It tastes good and goes really well with meat
Salty and earthy. A little went a long way. Very delicious Smokey bbq flavor on steak. Also tried it on shrimp, and it was very good!

There is only one type of grind. This grind grinds the salt more finely but the other spices come out in different sizes. This is very pretty on foods. This seasoning is salty and very smoky. It contains smoked paprika, sea salt, garlic, and basil. The smoked paprika is the best smoked paprika I have ever tasted.
I have used this on my potatoes, eggs and hamburgers. It adds a nice salty smoke taste to my eggs. The hamburgers I needed to put more on. The potatoes had a nice flavor. I added more after they were done cooking and they were delicious!
The salt is great in all sorts of dishes, for meat and veggies and even tofu! The grinder gets the pepper flakes and salt chunks to just the right size. The grinder is easy to operate and has a lid to protect the contents. I put this salt on hard boiled eggs for just the perfect kick of heat.
It’s warm but not really spicy. Great for meat or chicken. This spice blend reminds me of smoked paprika.
Ever since I first used this I have been using it almost daily! It tastes amazing in three middle of a grilled cheese or on some eggs or mashed potatoes. It’s great on all meals but especially as an addition to a steak rub. Get that delicious smoky flavor on anything!
The first impression of this product was great. I’ve never personally seen a grinder bottle for anything but pepper or salt. so I loved the ingenuity.
Second impression was the labeling. It is designed well, and clearly lets you know that is is from Africa, and supports wildlife conservation
Third impression was that it was pure yum – I opened the inner liner on the bottle, and was hit with the unmistakable smoky barbeque scent. I also tried a sniff with my eyes closed…it was like I had just popped open a bag of smokey barbeque chips.
There’s a pleasant earthiness to the mix from the garlic, which plays second fiddle to the paprika. The basil is mild but adds a note of complexity. I didn’t find it overly salty. The mix is not hot; I’d rate it about 2 on a scale of 1 to 10, so the flavor comes through with just a hint of smoke and heat, but not enough to burn.
I added some of this spice mixture to ground beef to make hamburgers and it was delicious. It’s also nice on potatoes or even sprinkled into ramen.
Simple blend of ingredients create a noteworthy taste. Just smoked paprika, garlic, salt, and basil. This is probably the most robustly smoked paprika I have ever used (even though it says lightly smoked). I go through a lot of paprika (once I discovered it could be used more than just for decorating deviled eggs!). I have various kinds, including smoked. This paprika a good depth of flavor, plenty of salty tang. Overall I like it, and it is a welcome addition to my seasoning collection. Now that I think of it, it is probably amazing on deviled eggs! But so far, I have used it on chicken dishes, and potatoes. Bet it makes a good rub as well . Ooh, think I will try it on a pork loin I have sitting in my fridge tonight.
This looks like dried red pepper flakes like you would put on pizza. The taste is much more than what it looks like, and it is also good on pizza. It gives a smokiness and garlic flavor with a touch of heat and salt.
I initially just assumed it would be a smoked paprika, but when I tried it I was blown away. It is amazing!. This not only packs the smoky flavoring in, but also adds garlic and basil to kick it up a notch. I’ve been using this on everything from salads to burgers to quiches. Definitely worth the 5 stars.

This seasoning is the best thing since sliced bread (it is also great on sliced bread!), I have ended up just leaving it on my kitchen counter and never packing it away. I use it that often!

Upon opening, there was an extremely pleasant aroma of smoke. The smoke seemed to give a sensation of being exotic and was definitely woody. Some of the aroma is the smoked paprika but I noted the more woody aroma even more as well as notes of garlic and basil.
This was much better than expected. Since this is a seasoning that I had never used before I initially went a bit light just in case.
The one downside that I found was a higher salt level that I prefer.

This is an amazing tasting smoked flavored seasoning. It is flavorful and delicious! It is an excellent seasoning.
The packaging is a grinder bottle but it is also delicious just straight out of the bottle without grinding if you like a larger spice. The large spice is excellent on meats like beef and pork.
This a fantastic quality smoky blend made of smoked paprika, dried garlic, sea salt and basil. Would be good in dips or eggs. The flavor is well balanced and incredible on any meat or vegetable.

It adds a nice smokey taste to meat or vegetables, and the hint of basil takes the flavor away from the standard southwestern US flavors. This is a nice smoked paprika that with a hint of garlic and dried basil. It has been good on burgers, rice, potatoes, chicken, and cauliflower. I am sure I will find other dishes that could use just a touch of smoke, too.
